Abstract

Structural and optical properties of La(1-x)SrxMnO3 (LSMO) nanoparticles, synthesized by the solid state reaction technique followed by the ball milling method. The X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) pattern of LSMO perovskite nanocrystal confirms the rhombohedral crystal structure. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) micrograph further confirms the formation of LSMO nanoparticles of size 10 to 20 nm. Photoluminescence spectra of LSMO nanoparticles have been studied for two different grain sizes of LSMO nanoparticles. It confirms the wider and higher intensity peak has been observed in lower grain size sample due to their disordered structure. The relationship between the grain size and absorption edge nanoparticles are determined by UV–vis absorption spectra.
