Abstract

Present paper holds studies on the seasonal variation of TEC, Hb & PCV in L. rohita. C. battrachus & C. striatus under north Indian climatic conditions of a natural and uncontaminated habitat. During present work parallel fluctuation pattern in TEC, Hb & PCV was observed in all sample fishes from Nov. 95 to Sept. 96. The peak values of TEC, Hb & PCV in L. rohita were noted in summer season while in C. batrachus & C. striatus these values were maximum in rainy season. However lowest values of aforesaid parameters were noted in winter season in all sample fishes. Observation have revealed that the fishes facing the breeding stress have different fluctuation trends in haematological parameters than those which are not facing the same.
