The protein content in the gonad, liver and muscles of Macrones bleekeri from Sadatpur Lake near Pravaranagar was studied in different reproductive stages. Study showed that during maturation. protein content increased in the gonads and decreased in the liver and muscles. The content were higher in both liver and muscle during preparatory phase. The study also showed that protein content was high in the gonads and liver of female than the male.
